Nothing to See Here

We've been making good use of our Christmas presents this weekend. We tried a new recipe from the Rachael Ray cookbook we got from Mom and Dad -- a ricotta pasta that turned out to be pretty tasty. And in the process, we used the new cutting board sheets we got from Isaac. Meanwhile, Stanley is chewing on his new Christmas stuffed animal, and last night we watched the Doctor Who Series 2 DVD that Nora and Adrian gave us.

When we were out running errands, we noticed that the Earth Fare store here is going out of business. We figured it was only a matter of time. It's an organic food kind of store, but there were already a couple of other organic food stores around here -- and the prices there always seemed to be significantly higher than the other places. We've gone there a few times, but they never seemed to be doing a big business. We went in today to see their final clearance sale, and it was pretty sad to see the place half-emptied out -- they didn't even have the lights on in some aisles, but just used Christmas lights instead!

Mike's parents have been booted off the information superhighway onto the slow lane. After getting used to high speed Internet, they discovered that when they returned to New Orleans, there's a waiting list for DSL lines! Just one more inconvenience compliments of Katrina, the gift that keeps on giving.

Not much else new. We took a tour of the YMCA the other day, and we'll probably join. They've got some exercise classes, a weight room, and a pool. I figure that swimming will help my back, assuming we can actually get motivated to go.
