Icy

We discovered a new feature of our car yesterday. As I was driving to work, I noticed that right under the temperature indicator was a note that said "ICY". (In fact, it wasn't icy at all. It was colder than it's been all year -- in the 20s, brrrr -- but clear and perfectly dry.) Still, I thought it was rather considerate of the car to warn me about possible road conditions.

Then it occurred to me that maybe something in the car itself was icy. ("Help, defrost my brake fluid!") But I didn't bother to check the manual until later that night, and my first thought was right. It's a "low temperature indicator" to "draw the driver's attention." I guess we're lucky that we've just seen it for the first time this year!
