Yummy Turkeys

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend.

The free-range turkey tasted about the same as the regular turkey, but ended up being a lot more work because we didn't use our normal oven-bag technique. Instead, Mike basted it every 40 minutes or so. He claims he enjoys basting, though.

The cupcake turkeys below were Nora's yummy creation.

We had some quality relaxation time, too. We saw the new James Bond movie, worked on some brainteaser puzzles that my mom brought (which only confirmed my belief that spatial awareness is not my strong point), and watched some funny British TV shows. (Check out "Extras" if you ever have the chance.)



And the women braved the potential crowds to do some Black Friday shopping. We didn't go to the mall (or to electronics stores), so it was actually quite managable. It was nice to get a bit of our Christmas shopping taken care of! We also made it to the NC designer craft show -- upscale art -- and the flea market next door -- not-so-upscale everything.
