Just in time

Turns out we made it into Heathrow just in time. As you've no doubt seen on the news by now, a terrorist plot was uncovered to blow up planes flying from the UK to the US. For now they've cancelled flights coming into the UK from the EU. We would have been stuck in Germany, or had to make alternate plans for a train voyage.

Now people aren't allowed to bring any carry-on bags on flights. Don't know if that will last until we fly back (probably so!) which will be quite a pain. I'm not thrilled about having to check my laptop in, and having an eight hour flight without a book will also be annoying. But better to be annoyed than dead.
