At the monastery

We had a beautiful morning in Munich yesterday, and then we caught the train to Prien and the boat to Fraueninsel. It's gorgeous here -- a lake with the Alps in the distance. The island we're staying on is quite small. It probably takes 15 minutes to walk the circle around it.

The convent/monastery has been around since the 700's, but I'm sure not in its current form. One of the unusual things about staying here is that they enforce quiet hours after 10 PM! (But there are restaurants, etc., off the monastery grounds where one can presumably be as loud as one likes.)
