Oh, the Irony

We've been looking for a new bed for literally two years (or more) now. Our old bed was originally purchased to be the guest bed, so we got one of the lower-end Sealy Posturepedics -- we figured it didn't need to be that durable, since it wouldn't be getting heavy use. Well, it ended up being our main bed, and turned out to be GARBAGE. (So much for our reliance on a name brand.) It rather quickly developed severe indentations where we slept. But the problem with bed warranties is that they only apply if the bed is indented more than an inch and a half without any weight on it. It's a complete scam. The bed was uncomfortable to sleep in, even with a memory foam pad on top, but it looked brand new if nobody was lying on it.

After months and months of occasional unsatisfying forays into mattress stores, we finally took the plunge and got a new mattress last week, which was delivered on Monday. (Ironically, the new one is also a Sealy, though a much different model. I had sworn never to buy a Sealy again, but this model actually seems to have a decent reputation, and it felt good in the store...so we'll see.) So far, so good -- I've woken up refreshed and with no back pain.

But here's the irony -- Mike has a ton of work this week because he's traveling all next week, so he hasn't gotten to bed before 3 AM the past few nights, and then up again at 7. So, he hasn't had a chance to enjoy the good sleeping yet at all!
