Hobbit House

Our rented house in England was really nice and more spacious than we expected. It’s called Park End, The Street, Walberton -- a fabulous Hobbit address. The town is tiny, but the pub is just up the road (we had a pint there tonight, and met the pub cat), and there’s a small store with some basic items. We had a bit of trouble the first night when half of the electrical outlets in the house didn’t work, and we were surprised that the washing machine took three hours to do a small load of clothes, but other than that, it was great.

There were free-range chickens in a yard behind the house, and we woke up in the mornings to the rooster crowing. Turns out roosters don't just crow at dawn. They're kind of like nature's snooze alarm. They just keep going and going at regular intervals.
