Permanent Change of Address
Despite the doom and gloom surrounding the housing market, Walt and Geo's Louisiana house sold fast -- at least it seemed that way to us, and I think it was a bit quicker than they expected, too! This week they were down packing up the former homestead, and they're now on the road in a moving truck back up to their now-permanent home in the frozen northland (that is, South Dakota).
By the way, a moving truck gets 7 miles to the gallon. Ouch!
So as a fitting tribute to their time in (well, near) the Big Easy, we went to the LSU alumni crawfish boil today. Yum! We had a chance to catch up with our friends Mark and Jen, and met some new people as well. (Cajuns are a friendly bunch.) It was a beautiful spring day.
Yep, Mikey did. (The funny thing is that he had already bought a National Championship football when we arrived, so we're coming home a few dollars poorer but two footballs richer.) Quite a nice end to the afternoon!
The thunderstorms rolled in as we were driving home. We had left the back door open so that Stanley could go in and out his doggie door, and we joked that he probably had enough sense to come in out of the rain. Well, when we opened the door, we were greeted by a wet dog! So much for his doggie smarts.
