Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! We had a low-key holiday. We took a nice long walk around our neighborhood, and cooked a traditional Easter dinner with ham, scalloped potatoes, and green bean casserole. (However, we used the Whole Foods organic cream of mushroom soup for the casserole -- because we happened to be at Whole Foods last night and you can't get anything else there -- and I would not recommend it. It's not thick enough to create the proper consistency.)

Last night we watched the Sound of Music as part of our cultural preparation for our trip to Austria (just a couple of weeks away!). Neither Mike nor I had ever seen it all the way through, believe it or not. (It wasn't a very good sign when about a minute into the movie, Mike says, "Can we just fast-forward through the singing parts?") Anyhow, we enjoyed it, even though it kept us up way past our bedtimes. (We've been on a bit of an odd sleep schedule anyhow this week, since Mike had what we think was food poisoning for a couple of days, and wasn't sleeping well.)

The next (and last) film on the cultural preparation list is The Third Man.
