Playing at Home

We turned in our brackets to the department basketball pool today. I picked an OSU-Florida rematch for the championship game (Bucks win), and Mike picked a Florida-UNC matchup (Tarheels win). My method for selecting winners mainly had to do with sentimental attachments ("hey, I have a friend at that school") with a dose of realism (a 14 seed won't often defeat a 1 seed), whereas Mike relied on Internet research. I think either approach is probably about as accurate as the Magic 8-Ball method, which propelled one of our friends to pool victory back when we were in grad school.

In other news, we've been enjoying the lovely spring weather. We're having a wee bit more landscaping done, mostly to try to correct a drainage issue. There's one part of the yard where water collects, which leads to torn-up grass and muddy spots (and thus, muddy dogs). We're using a new landscaper (which feels a bit like we're cheating on our original landscaper!) The new guy has not once been on time. We're not in a rush, but you'd think he figure out that he needs to estimate more time for everything than he's currently giving himself.
