Super (Bowl) Weekend

Dad came to visit this weekend with three dogs in tow -- Benny, Sammy, and Abby. (The astute observer will note that there are five dogs in the picture -- Blizzy the neighbor dog came over to play, too.) It was a nice visit, complete with a visit to a new Indian buffet.

We're making tacos this afternoon for a Super Bowl gathering at Janas and Andy's place. We don't have a particular vested interest in either of the teams. We watch pro sports so rarely that my usual strategy is to root for either the Green Bay Packers, because I like that they're owned by the city rather than an individual, or for whichever team has the most former Buckeyes playing on it. After a period of disillusionment, Mike will root for the Saints again, and occasionally the Eagles.

Today, we figure we'll root for da Bears because 1) I have a sentimental fondness for the Super Bowl Shuffle (this dates me, I know), and 2) they didn't steal their team from another city in the middle of the night.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the last comment in this post!
The pain of watching the INDIANAPOLIS Colts win last night lingers.
And for any Brown's fans reading this who feel Baltimore did the same thing to them, i would point out that we BOUGHT your team from you in the middle of the day!
