Play Ball

Today was the Eden softball tournament. It was scheduled to start at noon, and around 11 AM, the thunderstorms started to roll in. (We blame Walt, since he was washing his car in the morning -- it's the next best thing to a rain dance.) But fortunately, the storms rolled back out again and only delayed things for a half hour.
Mike and Walt volunteered to be in charge of the scoreboard. It was a high-tech operation, but they figured it out.The Eden Muskrats won both of their games. The first one was a close game against Rutland, ND, the hometown of Uncle Jim's wife Jan. (CJ -- your buddy Travis scored a home run, maybe the only one of the day.) The 'Rats won the second one (against Groton) by the mercy rule (for those of you who aren't softball players, this means that if a team is 10 runs ahead of the other team, the game stops there).
The festivities continue tomorrow.
PS: Meanwhile, UNC baseball is playing for the championship in the College World Series. Go Heels!
