Snow!

The promised snow has begun. The weather forecasters are all crazy about it (max of 6 inches, but more likely 1-3 inches). I hope that it's either 1) enough that they cancel classes, or 2) little enough that the roads aren't treacherous.

Evening update: Ha! Every other school in the area (except Duke) canceled classes. We ended up with maybe 3-4 inches, but we're in the South, and not prepared for such things. Public safety officers were urging people to stay off the roads. Apparently there were multiple car accidents in the Chapel Hill area. The governor declared a state of emergency just in case. But did the university cancel classes? No, they did not -- until this afternoon, right before I was about to go into school. Better late than never, I suppose. Of course, now I *really* have some catching up to do with the class, but I'd rather do that than risk icy roads.
