(For the non-Eckerdite readers: Peter Armacost was the President of Eckerd when I was a student there. He was not particularly well-loved by the students or the faculty. He resigned several years ago after a financial scandal in which almost 2/3rds of the college's endowment had been spent without the knowledge or approval of the Board of Trustees -- a move that could have threatened the survival of the college. Nonetheless, the new library was named after him on the request of a major donor. This photo was taken in the foyer of the library. Armacost's picture is in the center -- the one obscured by the palm fronds.)
