Gathering of Friends

One of the best parts of the Chicago trip was getting to reconnect with old friends.

We met up with Matt, Skip, George, and little Agatha for an early dinner on Saturday -- early to make sure we had enough time to hang out before the two and a half year old's bedtime. This had the added benefit that we had the Ethiopian restaurant almost to ourselves.

We got to hear about Skip's latest story (he's a writer), Matt's travels, and adventures with Agatha. She's a great kid -- smart, fun, and really good with adults. I was amazed at her language skills, though that shouldn't be surprising given her parents!

After dinner we adjourned to Matt's place, a gorgeous top-floor condo with a lake view. We hung out up on the room enjoying the beautiful weather and playing tag. (Agatha loved the game, but she didn't quite have all the rules straight -- even after she'd tagged someone as it, she'd dash over to make someone else it. "She's the Typhoid Mary of It.")
