New Q

A friend of ours from grad school and his wife were in town visiting last weekend, and so to appropriately welcome them to North Carolina, we decided to have some BBQ. Our "usual" BBQ places closed early, so we took the opportunity to try somewhere new -- the Q Shack.

We asked a couple of people waiting in line what they recommended, and the unanimous response was that everything was good! After our meal, we had to agree -- ribs, pork butt sandwiches, mac and cheese, cole slaw -- all delicious. (My only regret is that since I've mostly given up caffeine during the pregnancy, I had to ignore the siren call of the sweet tea.)

We took advantage of the warm weather to eat outside, and hung out there until they closed down. It was great to catch up with Pat and Robin; as a preview of parenthood, we got to hear all about their experiences with their two little ones.
