Selling Out to the Man
If you happen to have a prescription that's not covered by your insurance (or you have crappy prescription coverage, or no insurance), you might be interested to know that Walmart has a bunch of prescription drugs for just $4 each (you can find the list on their website). Woo-hoo!
For me this was a double bonus, because the drugstore closest to us is a horrible CVS. It has a parking lot that's a pain to get in and out of, it's not attractive inside, and despite all the reams of privacy paperwork, the pharmacists have a bad habit of asking customers questions about the drugs at top volume, perhaps not considering that people might not want to broadcast their medical information to the rest of the waiting customers. (And oh yes, there's frequently a pack of waiting customers, because they're not exactly an efficient operation there.) Wally World is a bit further away, but totally worth it.
(Of course, it's also a bonus for Walmart -- I more than made up for the drug savings with other purchases, but I'm sure that was part of their master plan!)
