Horrible

The student body president for our campus was found murdered yesterday in a neighborhood near the university. (It took them until today to identify her.) The whole campus is in shock. Right now, the police think it was a random crime. It's so senseless and awful -- and unexpected; apparently it's been decades since Chapel Hill had a murder and they didn't know who did it.

I never met her, but by all accounts she was an amazing young woman. What a loss.
